I am a Memphis based artist who works with a variety of mediums to form their sculptures. These works largely focus on deconstructing and reconstructing the bodies of angels and humans. By examining the two forms, Bee creates a space of reflection for viewers. I graduated from the University of Memphis with a BFA Earlier this year. I have had the opportunity to tutor high school students in art and intern in the art education department at the Metal Museum in Memphis. I plan to show a new video art installation titled Spatial Awareness in Care, Not Cure, a group exhibition at the Fogelman Galleries at the University of Memphis. As of late, I am depicting angels through wood carving and creating nature spaces with found wood. I manifest a meditative space by making detailed marks into the wood and setting up areas that imitate nature. When the angel is completely carved, it offers a feeling of peace into the space around it.
